The 125 had seen better days and was not suitable for teaching novice riders on. I wanted something un-intimidating but also reasonably capable off-road. The TW's only real weakness is the limited ground clearance. This is sustained by a surprisingly stiff suspension which, while great for drops, is not great for trying to clear logs and rocks. It was undoubtedly one of the best purchases I have ever made. I commute on the bike daily and ride off-road on the weekends whenever possible.
